Summer internship
Are you looking for a summer internship where you can acquire valuable experience by being a part of the
journey to create a world unique “Globe in 3D” based on satellite imagery? Would you like to learn and
develop your skills while working with cutting edge technology together with highly competent colleagues
in a global context?
Maxar is currently looking for summer interns to join the R&D center in Linköping.
What you'll do day-to-day (with your colleagues):
The summer internship aims to manually produce ground-truth data, which later on will be used to assess the
quality of the Maxar 3D products.
At Maxar, we have created our own or purchased surveyed GCPs (Ground Control Points). You will use the
data available about these to manually match where they are located in our model of the world. The
annotation (Image Chip) you create will consist of a 2D-3D correspondence and an appearance (a small
image). The 3D point is the GCP's 3D coordinate and the 2D point is your detection of that point.
You will be using an internally developed tool for this. Improvements of the tool may be done/needed. You
will also have the opportunity to survey new GCPs with highly accurate GNSS-methods and be involved in the
full process for generating ground truth.

Preferred qualifications:
- Master of science student
- Interest for details, meticulous
- Interest for GIS, HMI, GNSS, geodesy and/or statistics.
- Programming skills (C, C++, Python, Excel)
