Reports To:Bar Manager & General Manager.

Crown Quarter is one of the leading late-night venues in Wexford. We are currently recruiting for a Senior Bar Person to join our team. Earning up to €19 per hour (for premium late-night hours worked), T&C applies, this is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience looking to earn a premium wage.

Job Overview: As a Senior Bar Person, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our bar areas. You will assist the team in day-to-day activities and uphold the highest standards of service to create a memorable experience for our guests. Your strong leadership skills, exceptional customer service, and in-depth knowledge of beverages will contribute to the overall success of our company.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Assist in the Supervision, training, and mentoring the bar team, ensuring they deliver exceptional customer service and adhere to all operational standards.
  • Service Excellence: Maintain a welcoming and customer-focused environment, interacting with guests to ensure their needs are met and addressing any concerns promptly.
  • Beverage Knowledge: Demonstrate a deep understanding of the beverage menu, including cocktails, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic options, and assist guests with recommendations based on their preferences.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor bar inventory levels, place orders for supplies as needed, and oversee the storage and rotation of beverages to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all beverages are prepared and served according to the company’s standards, paying attention to presentation, taste, and overall quality.
  • Cleanliness and Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organised bar area, overseeing regular cleaning schedules and coordinating maintenance or repairs when necessary.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and alcohol service regulations and laws, including checking identification and refusing service to underage or intoxicated individuals.
  • Problem Solving: Address any operational challenges or guest complaints that may arise, finding effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with other hotel departments, such as the kitchen and waitstaff, to ensure smooth communication and efficient service delivery.
  • Upselling and Revenue Generation: Encourage bartenders to upsell premium beverages and promote special promotions, contributing to increased revenue for the hotel.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of various types of beverages, including cocktails, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic options.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality service standards.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with a calm and composed demeanour.
  • Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems and basic computer skills.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations related to food and beverage service.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
