We have a newly created opportunity for an Enterprise Solution Architect.

The Opportunity - Kia whakahuarahi

The Enterprise Solution Architect is responsible for bridging the gap between business problems and technology solutions, identifying holistic solutions to business problems or opportunities, and developing the technical vision to serve as actionable guidance for implementation.

This role provides plenty of opportunity to shape the transformation of our current solutions to a modern architecture that makes it easier for us to do business and easier for our customers to do business with us.

What will you be doing?

  • Own and maintain WM’s current state documentation, target architecture and roadmaps.
  • Work with the Digital Solutions managers to create detailed plans and budgets for IT architecture (hardware and software) and to manage the implementation of those plans.
  • Establish policy and strategy for the selection of systems architecture components, and coordinate design activities, promoting the discipline necessary to ensure consistency.
  • Engage with relevant business and technology stakeholders to ensure solutions are fit for purpose, and that stakeholders understand trade-off decisions.
  • Liaise with, and provide guidance to, partners during planning of partner-delivered solutions. Maintain a working relationship with key technology partners.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage the adoption of appropriate tools, techniques, and processes (including automation) to create a robust integration framework.
  • Support project managers or project leaders throughout every stage of development. Analyse assigned projects from a technical perspective providing accurate time estimates.

About you - Ko Mōu

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in an IT development role, including a minimum of 5 years’ experience with the design and development of enterprise-wide systems and solutions architecture.
  • Demonstrate an appreciation and understanding of enterprise architecture. Certifications such as TOGAF would be beneficial.
  • Skilled at communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, from exec to business divisions to technology teams.
  • Ability to connect business challenges with underlying people, process, data, and technology capabilities.
  • Knowledge of common design patterns and when/how to use them.
  • Experience in designing to address non-functional requirements and making sensible design decisions (e.g. security, scalability, cost).
