Accountant

THE OPPORTUNITY

Our partner, a leading global InsureTech who has been providing small businesses with the simplest way to get their business insurance sorted, is hiring for Content Marketing Specialist! The team opened its doors in 2008 and now operates in Australia, the US, and New Zealand.

The team has a big ambitions, and to support these ambitions they always need more talented people to join the organization. The client is looking for an Accountant who will be supporting the Head of Finance in a team of 6 and take full ownership of the US accounts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintenance of the general ledger, including associated balance sheet reconciliations (primarily for the US business unit).
• Process supplier invoices and employee expense claims for both the Australian and US business units.
• Maintain vendor accounts, track payments, and resolve queries promptly.
• Develop strong working relationships with relevant stakeholders.
• Process payments of supplier invoices, expense claims, insurer payments and drawings smoothly and efficiently.
• Liaise with relevant stakeholders to process client refunds and broker commission payments.
• Monthly reconciliation of the US trust account and investigative work as required.
• Participation in the annual audit and ad hoc reporting and projects assignment

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Commerce field or equivalent
• Min 5-7 years of working experience in finance preferably in Finance -Tech related industry.
• Qualified or partially qualified CA or CPA
• Previous experience with US-based entities, preferably in the financial services sector most desired.
• High level of attention to detail, organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and confidence with stakeholder management across regions
• Proactive and can-do attitude and strong in Microsoft Excel
