We are hiring for a leading civil construction company with a strong presence in Cork and a reputation for excellence in delivering infrastructure projects. We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer with experience in setting out to join our team and contribute to the successful completion of our projects, including those involving Irish Water.
Job Overview:
As a Civil Engineer (Setting Out) you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and precision of construction works by setting out site engineering control points. Your expertise will be instrumental in meeting project goals and adhering to quality standards, particularly in projects related to Irish Water infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Setting Out: Conduct accurate and reliable setting out of construction works using Total Station, GPS, and other surveying equipment.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that all construction works adhere to design specifications, quality standards, and relevant regulations.
Site Supervision: Collaborate with site supervisors, project managers, and construction teams to provide technical guidance and ensure that construction activities align with engineering plans.
Survey Data Management: Collect, process, and manage survey data to maintain accurate records and documentation.
Health and Safety: Champion health and safety practices on-site and ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
Problem Solving: Identify and address engineering challenges and make recommendations for effective solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on setting out.
- Proficiency in using surveying equipment and software, including Total Station and GPS.
- Familiarity with Irish Water standards, regulations, and guidelines is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) certification is a plus.
