We currently have a vacancy for a Funds and Special Purpose Vehicles Team Manager *on a specified purpose contract for the duration of approximately two years in the *Statistics Division.* _This role is aligned with the __Bank Professional 2 grade_*_ and the BP2 salary scale, between €83,703 _and €105,516_ applies. The purpose of the role is to lead a large team tasked with delivering statutory statistical requirements on Funds and Special Purpose Vehicle Statistics, developing and delivering policy relevant research and analytical output, engaging on our transformational agenda and representing the Central bank of Ireland on international working groups.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a large team of economists and statistical analysts in the areas of Funds and Special Purpose Vehicle Statistics, ensuring the team has the necessary skills and experience to perform to its potential and meet its statutory and policy obligations.
- Ensure the delivery of ECB Investment Fund Regulation update for the Division and provide mentoring and support to the team as they navigate through the project.
- Collaborate and engage with other divisions on the use of statistical data to support policy making and in the delivery of our operational tasks.
- Develop and deliver policy relevant research and analysis in line with Divisional and Bank priorities, and to maximise the use of data and statistics for analytical and policy purposes.
- Manage multiple stakeholder relationships internally and externally, including the ECB, CSO, IMF.
Requirements:
- Master degree or level 9 qualification in economics, finance, statistics or a closely related discipline;
- Minimum of five years working in financial statistics, with experience of managing a number of direct reports;
- Knowledge of financial markets, and in particular the funds sector, both domestic and international, particularly useful;
- Ability to translate financial developments into policy relevant analysis;
- Strong knowledge of international statistical framework and methodologies essential;
- Understanding of ECB statistical requirements and how these fit into policy discussions (e.g. SSM or monetary policy);
- Ability to lead and coach team and instil culture of continuous improvement;
- Strong communication skills needed to represent Bank in international meetings;
- Strong stakeholder focus needed to manage multiple relationships, both internal and external;
- Ability to collaborate with others to expand statistical knowledge across Bank and to integrate into policy decisions.
