Join us as a Systems Engineer for the Process Automation Business Area where you will be designing authority for an engineering discipline with medium complexity. Complet-ing assignments on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects, cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. Reporting to the Engineering Manager/Operations Manager and the position will be based in Grafton, New Zealand.

Your responsibilities:

• Coordinating engineering discipline across several projects. Providing technical support for testing, installation, and commissioning activities
• Assisting in preparing proposal/presentation of engineering projects/programs (provision of bills of materials, estimated engineering hours, etc. )
• Supporting Contract Managers in issuing claims (new/change in scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications etc.). Providing cost effective quality solutions as per customer requirement and delivers within budget and contract
• Creating work plans and cost estimates in one’s area of responsibility. Reviewing and approving scope, budget and schedule for assignments and ensuring quality deliverables on time and within targeted cost
• Completing risk and opportunity assessments and ensuring implementation of resulting actions in one’s area of responsibility. Reporting any contract / quality / program / cost issues to management along with recommendations for resolution
• Interacting with customers, officials, contractors, and others. Attending project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments
• Collaborating with the supply chain function to ensure that technical requirements for equipment or services are communicated and agreed to with potential suppliers. Providing technical evaluation of supplier proposals and accepting as fit for purpose supplied equipment or services
• Coaching, providing, supporting and technical advice to colleagues. Assigning tasks for and directs engineers, technicians, and administrative staff

Your background:

• Bachelor or master’s in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Systems Engineer or Project Engineer
• Experience in process and energy industries’ Electrical and automation products and solutions
• High knowledge of automation engineering, knowledge of ABB Automation solution is an advantage
• Good systems-thinking and a customer-focused way of working and commitment to solve technical problems. Possibility to travel occasionally
• Very communicator that can build consensus around its proposals. Open to those having works rights in New Zealand or foreigners willing to relocate
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, and writing)
