Mō te tūnga | About the role

Te Nīkau Hospital and Health Centre is a vital healthcare facility serving our community. We are currently looking for a dedicated Administration Support professional to join our team and play a key role in ensuring the efficient and appropriate access to healthcare services. This role is also essential in maintaining a respectful and culturally sensitive environment for both patients and colleagues.

What you’ll do with your time

  • Demonstrate commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles when working with tangata whaiora and whanau.
  • Consistently show awareness and sensitivity to cultural differences when working with patients and their whanau/families
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service with a welcoming friendly manner
  • Perform all administrative tasks.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and readily accessible paper-based and electronic medical records.
  • Ensure patient and medical documentation is recorded, updated and stored accurately and correctly
  • Answer incoming calls into the service and direct them to the correct departments as needed

  • Positive attitude with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion.
  • Minimum of one to two years of office experience or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technology and systems.
  • Initiative and accountability in work.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Ability to work with a diverse community.
  • Outstanding organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
