Education: Diploma/Degree in food science, production.
Experience:
5 to 10 years’ experience in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably within the food industry. Experience specifically in biscuit or cookie production is highly desirable.
Experience in a supervisory role is necessary. Experience leading a large team, managing production schedules, and overseeing quality control processes.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement methodologies, and quality management systems (HACCP, ISO).
Application Knowledge of Microsoft office, SAP, statistical control tools
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in operating production equipment and machinery commonly used in biscuit manufacturing.
Understanding of production processes, including mixing, forming, baking, cooling, and packaging of biscuits.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and standards, such as HACCP, GMP, GHP
Leadership and Communication Skills:
Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate & manage a diverse team of production workers.
Excellent communication skills to effectively convey instructions, provide feedback, and facilitate teamwork among team members.
Ability to communicate with other departments, such as maintenance, quality assurance, and logistics, to ensure smooth operations and coordination.
Problem-Solving and Decision-Making Skills:
Effective problem-solving skills to address production issues, troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, and implement corrective actions promptly.
Sound decision-making abilities to prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and make operational decisions to meet production targets and quality standards.
Organizational and Planning Skills:
Strong organizational skills to manage production schedules, coordinate workflow, and ensure timely completion of production tasks.
Ability to plan and implement production strategies to optimize efficiency, minimize waste, and maximize productivity.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as production demands require.
