Financial Lines - Loss Adjuster
The Forensic Accounting Division of Sedgwick, is a key component of our Major & Complex Loss Service offering to the wider insurance and legal market.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Lines Loss Adjuster, who following a period of mentoring and training will head up our Forensic Accounting Division.
The role will appeal to current financial lines loss adjusters and accountants with a minimum 3-5 years post qualification experience, either from a professional practice or industry background, who are looking for an exciting, challenging and rewarding career change.
The Financial Lines Loss Adjuster will measure all aspects of economic loss, and will extensively work both individually and a member of our MCL Team, other adjusting colleagues and external parties, such as lawyers, to measure the value of commercial claims. Their work is varied and diverse and includes exposure to claims across a diverse range of industries such as retail, hospitality, mining and logistics. Examples of their work includes:
- Investigating and quantifying claims for business interruption (loss of profit)
- Measuring and valuing large stock losses
- Investigating and quantifying employee fraud
- Measuring losses stemming from events such as cyber-attacks and product recalls
- Undertaking business valuations
- Preparing expert witness reports for matters in dispute
- Qualified accountant with membership of ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent.
- Minimum 3-5 years post qualification experience
- Excellent communication & dispute resolution skills
- Ability to think laterally and approach a scenario from multiple angles, with the ability to also justify/support this with models of financial loss.
- Proficient with all forms of technology and willing to embrace the use of technology to enhance client experience and streamline workflows.
- High end excel competencies
- Willing to represent Sedgwick as a market expert and engage in all forms of business development.
- Team player and ability to work with domestic colleagues, as well as the global Sedgwick network to achieve common goals.
- Acts with the highest professional ethics; and in accordance with the relevant professional standards and practices at all times.
