Job Title: Data Protection Officer

Summary:
Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's data protection policies, procedures, and frameworks in accordance with relevant data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
• Monitor and ensure compliance with data protection laws and regulations, including conducting regular audits and assessments of data processing activities to verify adherence to data protection standards.
• Provide guidance and training to staff members on data protection requirements, best practices, and procedures.
• Collaborate closely with the IT and security teams to evaluate and improve data security measures, respond to potential data breaches, and ensure the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Review and provide guidance on data processing agreements, privacy notices, data transfer protocols, and other relevant documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Keep abreast of changes in data protection laws and regulations, and update internal policies, procedures, and documentation accordingly.
• Maintain records of data processing activities and produce reports on data protection compliance, as well as oversee data privacy impact assessments and similar initiatives involving personal data processing.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in law, information technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Certified Data Protection Officer (CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT) certification is highly desirable.
• Proven experience as a data protection officer or in a similar compliance role.
• Strong understanding of IT security principles, best practices, and technologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and integrity.
• Proficiency in preparing reports and documentation related to data protection compliance.
