Windyridge Garden Centre has been described by both customers and employees as a fun place to shop and work. In recent years it is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards; Bord Bia Plant Centre of the year for 4 consecutive years and currently ranked in the top 5 retail outlets in Ireland. It is a thriving business having expanded from 10 employees to 40 during the past 6 years.
Your role will primarily entail:
- Processing payment & serving customers at the tills
- Working in a tightly knit team to provide first-class customer service and using the walkie-talkie system provided to help you find answers to customer enquiries
- Sourcing assistance for customers to bring products to their vehicles and/or occasionally helping them yourself
- Assisting with day-end cash procedures
- Assisting with pricing, shop displays & telephone inquiries.
Person requirements
- Previous experience of working at tills, using payment systems & handling cash is essential
- A friendly attitude, high level of customer service & honesty are essential requirements
- Be a good proven team worker and willing to adapt to ongoing work changes
- Punctuality is critical, hours of work are flexible in line with business requirements (early & late opening at peak times of year) and you will work to a weekly roster
- Be available to work a minimum of 3 and ideally 5 days weekly
- Although helpful, knowledge of gardening and plants is not an essential requirement, as formalised training on plants & horticulture which is provided for 1 to 2 hours every week is a key benefit of this role

Salary: €12.70-€13.50 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 24 per week
