As a Purchasing Assistant, you will support the procurement team in sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory for the organization. You will be responsible for assisting in the procurement process, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask are essential for success in this role.
- Sourcing and Procurement:
- Assist in researching potential suppliers and products to meet company needs.
- Obtain and compare price quotes from multiple vendors.
- Place purchase orders based on approved requisitions and negotiate terms and pricing when necessary.
- Monitor and track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve any discrepancies.
Supplier Management:
Maintain positive relationships with existing suppliers and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Communicate regularly with suppliers to ensure accurate and timely delivery of goods.
- Address any issues or concerns related to quality, pricing, or delivery with suppliers promptly.
Inventory Management:
Assist in monitoring inventory levels and reorder points to prevent stockouts.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage and handling of inventory.
- Conduct periodic inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.
- Generate reports on purchasing activity, supplier performance, and inventory status as needed.
- Assist in preparing and processing invoices for payment.
Compliance and Regulations:
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as relevant regulations governing procurement and purchasing.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and changes in regulations affecting procurement.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably in a similar industry.
- Familiarity with procurement processes, inventory management principles, and sourcing strategies.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Salary: RM1,600.00 - RM2,200.00 per month
