Health and Safety Officer

Newbridge Foods are seeking to recruit an experienced Health and Safety Officer

Responsibilities:
Ø Identify safety training needs and coordinate safety training programs.

Ø Provide safety information to employees.

Ø Assist in Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment activities.

Ø Develop/Update Job Safety Analyses/Risk Assessments as needed.

Ø Perform internal safety audits.

Ø Support emergency preparedness procedures.

Ø Assist in the selection of appropriate PPE.

Ø Conduct ’ Monthly Safety Meetings.

Ø Assist in the development and implementation of EH&S related policies, procedures and programs to assure compliance with all state, local and company-specific regulations & requirements.

Ø Review incident reports (accidents and near misses) and follow-up as necessary.

Ø Coordinate with HR on related matters such as Return-to-Work meetings etc.

Ø Properly respond to day-to-day H&S related issues in a timely and efficient manner

Ø Ensure understanding of all H&S and regulatory requirements needed to maintain a safe work environment.

Ø Execute other tasks as assigned.

Ø Conduct quarterly Health and Safety reports as required.

Ø Practical knowledge of HSA (Ireland) (required)

Ø Experience with HSA compliance.

Ø Responsible for all administrative tasks within the H&S Dept.

Ø Compiling, updating and Safety Statement, SSW’s and other related documentation.

Qualifications:

• Relevant Health and Safety Qualification /Diploma or higher.
• 2 years working as a Health & Safety Officer

Must work within a commutable distance of Newbridge, Co. Kildare.

Pay: €45,000.00-€50,000.00 per year
