We have an exciting contract job opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join our valuable client in the Oil and Gas industry. It is a fixed term contract duration of 12 months.
Your responsibilities include managing different parts of electrical erection works at 100MW Gas Engine Power Plant Project, supervising crew members, preparing estimates for time and material costs, completing quality assurance, observing health and safety standards, and compiling reports for different stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as the main technical adviser on a construction site for subcontractors, craftspeople, and operatives.
- Set out, level and survey the site.
- Check plans, drawings, and quantities for accuracy of the design documents.
- Ensure that all materials used, and work performed are in accordance with the specifications.
- Oversee the selection and requisition of materials.
- Agree a price for materials and make cost-effective solutions and proposals for the intended project.
- Manage, monitor, and interpret the contract design documents supplied by the client or main architect engineer.
- Liaise with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project.
- Liaise with the local authority (where appropriate to the project) to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and by-laws.
- Communicate with clients and their representatives, including attending regular meetings to keep them informed of progress.
- Carry out day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labour force and the work of any subcontractors - this is site-specific and may not be the case on all projects.

- Plan the work and efficiently organise the plant and site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines.
- Oversee quality control and health and safety matters on site.
- Prepare reports as required.
- Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Construction, or a related degree.
- 5+ years of work experience in the Construction company as a Site Engineer, Electrical Engineer, or a similar role.
- A valid driver's license will be mandatory.
- Proficiency in Computer-aided drafting (CAD) software.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Ability to manage tasks as per priorities.
- Good project management skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a positive work environment.
- A hardworking and detailed-orientated individual.
- Thorough and accurate with attention to detail
- Good ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.
- Prepared to adopt a flexible approach to working hours and arrangements.
