The Role / Person
The demands on the Timaru District’s critical road infrastructure is becoming increasingly challenging. With the increasing economic growth, safety focus, climate change and ageing assets, the programme of work is forecasted to grow significantly over the next 10 years.
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, hardworking individual to join our Land Transport Team as a Road Officer. You will be responsible for the management and maintenance of the districts roads and footpaths ensuring an effective, efficient and sustainable road transport network.
To start, you will be the person on the ground, inspecting our road, footpaths, and streetlights, and the one to identify and report any issues. Working with other groups, both internal and external, you will suggest and oversee the repairs. At the end, you will ensure that the repairs meet quality and safety standards, budgets, and deadlines.
If you are the type of person who likes to see things done from start to finish, all for the benefit of our community, then we want to hear from you.
