Chief Accountant

Emerson-Warszawa, Polônia

Based in our Warsaw offices, our small Finance team is responsible for end-to-end accounting for two Emerson entities (in Poland and in Lithuania) as well as close cooperation with our Shared Service Centers and external vendors on an international scale. As a Chief Accountant, you would be monitoring all the accounting processes and acting as an expert in all tax-related matters

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Supervising your team and allocating their tasks
  • Being fully responsible for statutory books and tax settlements (including signing of tax declarations)
  • Taking ownership of month-end-close processes
  • Cooperating with global shared service centers
  • Implementing system/process changes to adjust them to new accounting/tax rules
  • Monitoring the correctness, quality, and flow of accounting documents and accounting records
  • Generating financial reports and statements
  • Preparing declarations and handling all state authorities’ requirements relating to financial tasks of the company (e.g. NBP, ZUS, GUS, and any other)
  • Filing all obligatory tax declarations (e.g. VAT, CIT, WHT, and local taxes reporting and compliance)
  • Completing internal controls designed to ensure accounts are in accordance with local and US GAAP (SOX)
  • Cooperating with internal and external auditors, tax authorities and banks
  • Providing advice on complicated tax and accounting matters within finance department and to other business partners (with support of external tax advisors)
  • Optimizing accounting processes
  • Contacting customers / vendors to resolve accounting disputes
  • Cooperating with a local provider of tax, legal and accounting services Supporting payroll preparation, approval flow, and payroll executionWho You Are:
    For This Role, You Will Need:

  • At least 10 years of experience in Accounting, including 5 years as a Chief Accountant

  • Experience leading a small team
  • Very good English (used daily in work)
  • Experience in complex ERP accounting system (Oracle, SAP, Navision, etc.)
  • Expert knowledge of Polish accounting and tax laws as well as familiarity with IFRS or US GAAP Advanced Excel (pivot tables, V-lookups)Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
