Corporate Relations Advisor - Communications Lead

Shell Egypt has an ambitious agenda for business growth but the external environment and the stakeholder landscape and highly challenging. The role of Communications Lead supports strategic and tactical delivery of external and internal communications at country level to ensure distinctive reputation for Shell externally and business alignment internally. The role works proactively with business leaders to profile the business as a partner for growth while ensuring the Shell staff are sufficiently engaged on business priorities and direction. The role will develop an integrated country plan to protect Shell’s reputation and license to operate. It will also support the Head of Corporate Relations in the identification of opportunities to unpack Shell business and advocacy positions.

Accountabilities:
External:
Strengthen the brand visibility and profiling of Shell companies in Egypt by leveraging our global leadership in natural gas and LNG, the strength of our integrated value chain position in country, and

our efforts in delivering short and long-term value to the country.

  1. Effective management of conferences and exhibitions as a key tool for communicating externally. Priorities are:

  • Focus on key flagship events with the aim of maximizing business engagement and brand visibility.
  • Create material and collaterals appropriate for different external events.
  • Deliver communication plans for different activities setting out objectives, desired outcomes, tools and success criteria.

  1. Work closely with the Head of Corporate Relations to develop robust content for external use by VP and senior leadership. This includes:

  • Briefing notes on business activities and business context.
  • Slide-packs for conferences and exhibitions when required.
  • Talking points / speeches for events and conferences.

  1. Manage media relations and enhance company position and intimacy with the media community.
  2. Ensure favorability, positivity and and differentiated share of voice compared to peers.
  3. Manage all announcements related to business activities and portfolio actions externally.
  4. Work closely with Group Centers of Excellence (Media Relations and Investor Relations) to ensure adherence to disclosure and clearance standards.
  5. Support communication around Social Investment and Social Performance activities.

  6. Manage Public Relations agency contract to develop and execute comms plans, identifying external stakeholders and mitigations to potential reputational risks.


INTERNAL:

  • Develop and deliver an internal communication plan and strategy to promote company values and business priorities with clear Key Performance Indicators focusing on impact.
  • Support the delivery of all Internal Communication events on Company and Corporate Relations team levels (Townhalls, Health Campaigns, HSE awareness, team building exercises). This will require close collaboration with Human Resources.
