Job Description:
At The Warehouse Group, it’s our goal to stay ahead of the curve in the ever-evolving world of retail. We are currently seeking a dynamic Junior Buyer to join our womenswear apparel team to help curate an exciting collection tailored to the New Zealand market.

This role is critical to our success and your key responsibilities are complex and exciting. You will have the opportunity to make commercial decisions that create value for our customers and drive results.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Full accountability for an apparel portfolio, supported by the Senior Buyer
  • Supporting the Senior Buyer to develop and deliver holistic product strategies in line with the company goals and objectives.
  • Working closely with the Senior Planner to deliver comprehensive assortment plans and delivery of activations for new products.
  • Thorough analysis of sales data and regularly reporting findings to stakeholders, providing valuable information that shapes our business strategies.
  • Embracing the latest trends and styles with a creative flair. Your fashion-focused lens will be pivotal in curating collections that resonate with our diverse customer base.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, new products, market conditions, and potential risks and opportunities to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Thriving in a cross-functional environment where teamwork is the key to success. Working seamlessly with various departments, from design to marketing, ensuring a cohesive and compelling product offering.

Qualifications:
Highly commercial, insightful and decisive in your thinking, you are passionate about your craft and have an innate curiosity for ‘how we can do better’ to provide the best products for our customers.

Excellent stakeholder management and communications skills will be essentials to unlock collaboration, productivity and speed to market - this is key to our agile way of working! Your drive to contribute whilst taking ownership means you work effectively, both independently and collaboratively to deliver your best work and commercial results for the business.

To be successful for this role you will have:

  • Previous experience as an associate or Jr buyer in the fashion retail industry.
  • A keen understanding of young women's fashion trends, preferences, and buying behaviour.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret sales data to make informed buying decisions.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
