As part of our Agile Transformation, we are seeking passionate and experienced Data Architects to work in a critical and growing area of the bank, using cutting-edge technologies and agile delivery methodologies.
As part of our agile design team, you will have access to support and guidance during design review sessions, and you will take ownership of the solution as it progresses into the build and test phases. Be a part of a team that values creativity, collaboration, and innovation.
In this Role, you will;:
- Provide ownership and accountability for delivering effective solution designs to meet business needs within the Bank's Enterprise Data Lake (EDL) platforms, taking the lead on the delivery from an data design perspective
- Contribute to the data architecture roadmap and strategy, working with the enterprise architecture team providing inputs in the definition of the future data architecture state
- Provide key contributions to overall solution planning, providing input into the estimation process as well as highlighting technical risks, issues and assumptions
- Partake in design reviews from fellow data solution architects within the team, contribute to the architecture governance forums as required, as well as presenting to the Bank's Architecture Review Board when necessary
What will make you stand out?:
You are a highly experienced solution architect in designing solutions for large-scale distributed data projects and programmes working in complex, multi-vendor change delivery organisations. You have deep distributed data platform knowledge and experience particularly on the Cloudera CDH/CDP.
You have excellent knowledge of distributed data design principles commonly used in Hadoop and a solid understanding of processing large datasets (including streaming data and unstructured data utilising HBase, Hive, Impala and Spark).
You are experienced in modern engineering practices and technologies and Scrum/Kanban and SAFe delivery. You have a proven track record in complex enterprise IT estates with an ability to contribute to projects and programmes quickly.

Data Solutions provides critical data integration and engineering services to support the Bank's change programme of initiatives. Data Solutions operates a 'one team' culture delivering through multi-functional squads. Solution architects operate as a shared service provider to the delivery squads in developing solution plans and designing the end-to-end data warehouse solutions.
This is a hybrid role and can be done anywhere in the Republic of Ireland with the primary office location as Dublin. Travel will be required for in-person collaboration - exact frequency to be agreed with manager.
