Business Support Specialist

U.S. Army Sustainment Command-Camp Arifjan, Kuweit

Duties:

  • Develops business plans and strategies, acquisition plans, and long-range program goals of the organization to determine proper contracting mechanisms to implement partnership agreements with private industries, and other government agencies.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and synchronizes a variety of information pertaining to program operation, cost, schedule, and performance data.
  • Analyzes, evaluates, and coordinates changes to the Performance Work Statement (PWS), Density List and Work Load Assumptions as required by changes in Brigades logístical mission.
  • Serves as the Brigades strategic agent who leads the development of doctrine on special Integrated Process teams (IPTs).
  • Represents the Brigade at meetings and conferences with representatives of HQ and other commands on logistics readiness contact activities.
  • Advises commanders and key officials regarding acquisition policy, source selection, and procedures.

  • This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.

  • Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction 1315.19.
  • This position requires the incumbent to possess, or obtain and maintain, a valid regular or official U.S. Passport.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Emergency-Essential". Emergency-Essential designation takes precedence over any transportation agreement or military recall status.
  • E/E cont'd - In a crisis situation or wartime, the incumbent must continue to perform duties of the position to ensure success of combat operations or to support combat essential systems subsequent to mobilization or an evacuation order.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Business Financial Management and Cost Estimating certification within 36 months as of entrance on duty.
  • This is an Emergency Essential position.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a CENTCOM MOD-17 compliant deployment physical exam. Must be able to successfully complete an overseas deployment dental examination.

Qualifications:
RECRUITMENT/RELOCATION/INCENTIVE - May be requested through management and may be authorized up to 25% of base salary per year to be paid bi-weekly.

Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 13 Months. Term appointments may be extended up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.

  • Direct deposit of pay is required.
  • U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement.
  • Employees who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only.
  • Medical and dental care may be provided by host nation providers. The availability and level of care at host nation medical and dental facilities will vary by location.
  • Pay retention may be offered to selected applicants for positions at overseas locations. Pay retention will not be offered as an incentive for employees moving between overseas positions.
