MEP Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and update site progress on a weekly basis, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards to meet client and consultant satisfaction.
  • Prepare electrical shop drawings, including single line diagrams, schematics, cable routing, and installation layouts, and obtain approval from consultants.
  • Coordinate with local authorities and municipalities for necessary approvals related to MEP works.
  • Oversee the installation of electrical systems associated with HVAC and MEP systems, including SMDB, MCC, VFD panels, and control panels.
  • Supervise the installation of LV cabling and distribution, including termination and testing for LV switchgears, MCC, MDB, SMDB, and DBs.
  • Conduct load scheduling and estimation for electrical distribution systems, including MDB, SMDB, and BDs.
  • Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of fire alarm systems and LV systems, including ACBs, SMDB, MCC, and control panels.
  • Coordinate the installation of ELV structural cabling and distribution network, including data, telephone, fiber optic, and BMS systems.
  • Conduct cable termination and testing, ensuring compliance with specifications and safety standards.
  • Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of system earthing and lightning protection systems.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to project requirements.
  • Conduct material take-offs, float inquiries, review quotations, and negotiate with suppliers/manufacturers, addressing any problems identified during site meetings.
  • Assist the Project Engineer in the preparation of variation claims, if any, and monthly progress valuations for billing purposes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience in MEP project implementation and site/project management, particularly in building projects.
  • Strong knowledge of both electrical and mechanical services, with the ability to oversee installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Proficiency in preparing electrical shop drawings and obtaining approvals from consultants.
  • Experience coordinating with local authorities and municipalities for necessary approvals.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to supervise subcontractors and collaborate effectively with project teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing issues and ensuring project success.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing MEP works in construction projects.

Education:

  • Bachelor's (preferred)
