Job Summary
The Fire Door Inspector (FDI) is an essential part of allowing the business to adhere to the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022. The FDI will support the Risk Management Officers, and Head of Risk Management on property on-site inspections of communal/service cupboard fire doors and apartment fire doors. The role will cover all aspects of regulation 10 of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 and offer support to Risk Management Officers on Fire, Health and Safety Risk Assessments where necessary.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Proactively promote Fire Safety throughout the company.
- Carry out fire door inspections in line with regulation 10 of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022.
- Record and log all fire door inspections separating apartment door reports from communal/service cupboard fire doors.
- Work with Head of Risk Management to provide advice to internal staff on Fire Door.
- Carry out training to staff regarding Fire Door Inspections.
- Assist in preparing for external audits.
- To undertake any other duties as required by Senior Management commensurate with the grade of the post.
- Flexibility to work outside of normal office hours to attend sites, meetings and events. Also, to work away from home across the country as and when work commitments require.
Qualifications, Skills, Training
Essential
- Experience in the Residential Property Management and/or Fire Safety
- Ability to work unsupervised and use initiative.
- Understanding of iAuditor and Risk Assessments
- To continue with personal CPD (Career Path Development) and attend relevant training courses commensurate to the role
Desired
- IOSH Managing Safely (or similar)
- Fire Door Diploma (FDIS or Similar)

Special Requirements
Working hours are 37 hours per week Monday to Friday. The position is a blend of site, office and working working from home.
