Job Title: Video Editor

Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Editing and Assembling Footage:

  • Import and organize raw footage.
  • Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film.
  • Input music, dialogues, graphics, and effects.
  • Create rough and final cuts.

  1. Collaboration:

  • Work closely with directors, producers, and other team members to ensure the vision for the video is met.
  • Review shooting script and raw material to create a shot decision list based on scenes’ value and contribution to continuity.

  1. Technical Skills:

  • Utilize editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar.
  • Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running.
  • Consult with stakeholders from production to post-production process.

  1. Creative Input:

  • Provide creative suggestions to enhance the video quality.
  • Experiment with styles and techniques, including the design of graphic elements.

  1. Quality Control:

  • Review and correct any issues with video quality.
  • Ensure the project meets the technical standards for the platform it will be presented on.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest editing technologies and industry best practices to maximize efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Proven work experience 1-3 yrs as a Video Editor and Videography.
  • Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g., Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects, Final Cut).
  • Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio.
  • Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation, and continuity.
  • Familiarity with special effects, 3D, and compositing.
  • Creative mind.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Bachelor’s degree in film studies, cinematography, or a related field is preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with motion graphics and animation.
  • Knowledge of color grading.
  • Familiarity with audio editing and sound design.
  • The role is typically office-based.
