WSP Middle East is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer
Your new role, what's involved?
- Develop and implement comprehensive cybersecurity strategies tailored to the power transmission project, ensuring the protection of SCADA systems, industrial control systems, and related critical infrastructure.
- Monitor and assess the power transmission network for vulnerabilities, threats, and risks, ensuring that appropriate security measures are in place to mitigate potential breaches.
- Perform regular penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and threat modeling to evaluate system weaknesses and recommend effective solutions.
- Design, deploy, and manage security architectures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), encryption, and access control mechanisms.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders, including system engineers and IT teams, to ensure that security considerations are integrated into the design, development, and deployment phases of the transmission network.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards such as NERC-CIP, IEC 62443, and other local and international regulations related to cybersecurity in the energy sector.
- Develop incident response plans and lead the investigation and resolution of cybersecurity incidents within the transmission project.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3 years focusing on industrial control systems, SCADA networks, or power transmission projects.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and regulations (e.g., NERC-CIP, IEC 62443, ISO 27001).
- Proficiency in performing vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and using cybersecurity tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and encryption.
- Strong understanding of network security, identity and access management (IAM), and incident response in an industrial environment.
- Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, GICSP, or equivalent are preferred.
- Knowledge of energy sector and power transmission operations in Oman or the GCC region is desirable.
