Job Summary: The PYP (Primary Years Programme) Assistant Teacher plays a crucial role in supporting the implementation of the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum in the primary classroom. The assistant teacher works closely with the lead teacher to create a stimulating and engaging learning environment that promotes inquiry-based learning and holistic student development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Support:

  • Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing IB PYP-aligned lessons and activities.

  • Support students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
  • Help maintain an organized, safe, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Assist in setting up and managing learning centers and materials.
  • Student Engagement and Development:

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture.

  • Encourage students to develop independence, confidence, and social skills.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the lead teacher.
  • Support differentiated instruction to meet diverse student needs.
  • Assessment and Record-Keeping:

  • Observe and document student learning and behavior.

  • Assist in preparing student portfolios, reports, and other assessment materials.
  • Support the teacher in conducting formative and summative assessments.
  • Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work collaboratively with the classroom teacher, specialists, and support staff.

  • Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents as needed.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.
  • Classroom Management and Supervision:

  • Assist in managing student behavior following IB PYP principles and school policies.

  • Supervise students during recess, lunch, field trips, and other school activities.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.
  • Professional Development and Growth:

  • Engage in professional learning opportunities related to the IB PYP framework.

  • Stay updated with best practices in early childhood and primary education.
  • Be open to receiving feedback and continuously improving teaching practices.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month

Education:

  • Bachelor's (preferred)

Work Location: In person
