Quantity Surveyor

Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and motivated Quantity Surveyor to support all quantity-related aspects of construction projects, from pre-contract to project completion. The role involves preparing accurate quantity take-offs, monitoring material usage, supporting tenders, and ensuring cost-efficient material management.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ) from technical drawings and specifications.

  1. Monitor on-site material usage and compare it with planned estimates.

  2. Generate inventory reports showing consumed, remaining, and missing materials.

  3. Analyze material usage variances and suggest cost-effective solutions.

  4. Collaborate with site teams to adjust material supply plans based on actual progress.

  5. Use AutoCAD and technical tools to extract and verify accurate quantities.

  6. Support tender processes by preparing quantity-related forms, documentation, and cost breakdowns.

  7. Collect and compare supplier quotations to aid in procurement decisions.

  8. Assist in preparing tender and bidding forms, quantity summaries, and technical submissions.

  9. Create and maintain tracking tables for material movements and consumption.

  10. Provide updated reports to project and procurement teams for better decision-making.

  11. Ensure optimal material availability by avoiding shortages or overstocking.

  12. Assist in improving forecasting and planning methods to minimize waste and control costs.

  13. Maintain organized records and documentation of all quantity-related data and calculations.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience in a similar role within the construction industry is preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and quantity surveying software.
  • Knowledge of material purchasing, sourcing samples, and supplier evaluation.
  • Ability to prepare and interpret technical drawings, BOQs, and tender forms.
  • Familiarity with tender procedures, quote comparisons, and cost analysis.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to documentation accuracy.

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting tender submissions and procurement processes.
  • Knowledge of local construction laws, contracts, and standards.
  • Familiarity with ERP or project management software.

Pay: KD1.000 - KD400.000 per month

Experience:

  • Quantity Surveyor: 3 years (preferred)
