JOB SUMMARY:
This role works interdependently in residential hotels for the formerly homeless. This role oversees Curry’s work at the hotel(s) that supports tenant stability and wellbeing by providing compassionate services using cultural competency, harm reduction, motivational interviewing, and other best practice techniques. Ensures programs meet internal quality and reporting requirements and are in compliance with contract guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the daily operations of the department.
- Practice and reinforce the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
- Recruit, interview, hire, and orient all direct reports.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels.
- Provide initial and ongoing training to team members.
- Assign duties and work schedules to direct reports and provide on-site guidance of established procedures.
- Review and approve timecards, including time off requests. Make appropriate edits, when needed.
- Monitor overtime, double-time, and missed meal breaks. If abuse is apparent, meet with employee(s) to discuss. If abuse continues, work with HR for disciplinary actions.
- Maintain job descriptions and evaluation criteria for all direct reports and conduct formal written evaluations, using the appropriate tools provided by HR.
- Provide support, direction, and leadership to team members and assist them with any questions or problems.
- Address any performance problems and, if necessary, handle terminations in accordance with established company guidelines.
- Resolve conflicts in a timely manner with the consultation and support of HR.
- Maintain OSHA standards.
- Responsible for the collection of data and reporting via various software programs.
- Hold and facilitate regular team meetings.
- Oversee program budget and ensure that projects are completed on time and in budget.
- Provide solutions to issues that develop.
- Participate in writing of RFP’s, funding proposals, and other requests for support.
- Facilitate multi-disciplinary coordination meetings, resident community meetings, resident events, and case conferences.
- Maintain a creative, inclusive, and collaborative environment for employees and use a constructive process in dealing with challenges, decisions, and policy-making that respects the rights of employees and residents.
- Work in collaboration with Wellness Nurse to provide on-site services to residents.
- Collaborate and partner with Property Management staff to support residents with housing retention and increasing self-sufficiency.
- Instill and create a collaborative and cohesive environment with Property Management and Housing partners.
- Attend all appropriate meetings and trainings.
- Submit program and grant reports to funders.
- Attend agency meetings and trainings.
- Participate in on-going agency QA/QI projects.
- Complete HUD Annual Performance Review (APR), reporting and maintaining accurate charting.
- Conduct quarterly reviews of all resident charts and assign case management caseloads.
- Oversee tracking of all non-cash/in-kind benefits.
- Oversee prospective clients through admission and annual assessment.
- Ensure that the goals and objectives developed for each resident are achieved in fulfillment of all contracts and grants, and in accordance with CSC’s mission, culture, and strategic plan.
- Coordinate with Property Management to fill vacant units.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS required.
- Two (2) years’ verifiable experience providing case management services to the homeless or formerly homeless population.
- Knowledge of San Francisco resources for homeless and formerly homeless, required.
- Ability to refer tenants to appropriate resources, required.
- Supervisory experience, required.
- Experience with One System/Circe database software, preferred.
- Proof of negative or inactive TB required. Curry Senior Center will provide or reimburse for the cost of a TB test after an offer of employment has been accepted by both parties. Proof of a negative TB test within 90 days will also be accepted.
