Job Summary

Summary
Responsible for embryological techniques including oocyte identification/grading, semen preparations, pronuclear evaluation, embryo evaluations, embryo transfer and embryo freezing.

Essential Functions

  • Perform Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) techniques as required including human oocyte micromanipulation, assisted hatching, embryo transfer, retrieval of human oocytes, denuding human oocytes, assessing fertilization status of human embryos, cryopreservation of embryos, thawing of embryos, insemination of human oocytes, and sperm preparation.
  • Conduct advanced micromanipulation (ICSI)
  • Media preparation for all laboratory procedures.
  • Daily and weekly quality control monitoring of laboratory products, equipment and procedures.
  • Maintenance of equipment. Thorough understanding of the equipment and the ability to problem solve during malfunctions is required.
  • Train new staff as requested.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures (semen analysis and IUI preps) for Andrology Service.
  • Maintenance of program statistics.

Qualifications

Education
- Bachelor's Degree Biology & Microbiology required _or _Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required

  • Thorough knowledge of assisted reproduction and can perform a wide array of embryological techniques.
  • Ability to follow protocols and function well under pressure.
  • Proficient at identifying and organizing necessary tasks.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a laboratory team in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.Demonstrated commitment to ethical and professional standards in human reproductive medicine.
