Duties & Responsibilities:
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To Assist the Medical Director and Director of Mental Health in a Mental Health Operations.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee operations needs and quality improvement projects as it pertains to life safety and environment of care in the Behavioral Health Service
- Liaise with all services and central office to ensure safety and to resolve goals and objectives of the department.
- Provides direction and execution of proposed projects or other related programs designed to enhance the service.
- Work collaboratively with all programs and the Department of Facilities and Quality Management to ensure regulatory survey readiness
- Formulates and develops methods and procedures for monitoring, evaluating and operating mental health programs and services
- Reviews city, state and federal regulations in connection with compliance. Reviews and advises pertinent personnel on improving programs for full compliance
- Prepares special reports, studies and budgetary estimates
- Supervises staff assigned and provides professional direction
- Participates in staff meetings, conferences and attends meetings with key leadership officials and external representatives
- Implements policies and procedures based on standards and regulatory requirements.
- Responds to and investigates patient complaints
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- Monitors providers’ access and utilization
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possession of a valid license and current registration to practice in a mental health discipline issued by the
New York State Education Department (NYSED); and - Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in a health care setting or regulatory agency
administration, with an emphasis on development and evaluation of mental health delivery services; one (1)
year of which must have been in an administrative, managerial or supervisory capacity.
