Job Overview

Duties

  • Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and cooking.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
  • Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, placing orders, and minimizing waste.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items that align with seasonal offerings and customer preferences.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.
  • Participate in food production for both regular service and special events, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality dishes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
  • Support the dietary department by accommodating special dietary needs and preferences.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a fine dining or banquet setting.
  • Strong team management skills with the ability to lead and motivate kitchen staff.
  • Excellent knowledge of food management practices, including food safety regulations.
  • Proficient in supervising kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency and quality control.
  • Experience in menu planning and food production techniques.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and other departments.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
