About the Role
Oculist Eye & Vision Care is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our patient-focused team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys both clinical and administrative tasks, with a strong interest in eye care. You’ll work closely with our optometrists to provide seamless, high-quality care—including pre-testing and scribing during exams.
Pre-Testing & Clinical Support
- Greet and prepare patients for their eye exams
- Conduct pre-tests: autorefraction, tonometry, retinal imaging, visual fields, OCT, etc.
- Take patient medical and ocular histories accurately
- Clean and calibrate equipment regularly
Scribing
- Accurately document exam findings in real time using our EMR system
- Transcribe doctor-patient interactions during exams
- Help with patient education and follow-up instructions
Additional Duties
- Assist with contact lens training
- Support front desk with scheduling, insurance, and check-in/out as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical space
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in optometry or ophthalmology
- Strong attention to detail and time management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- EMR experience (Eyecloud Pro a plus)
- Friendly, calm demeanor and patient-first mindset
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 - 40 per week
