Female Support Worker - Aged Care & Younger-Onset Dementia

Sutherland Shire, NSW | Private In-Home Support (Non-Registered Provider)

We are a private, non-registered in-home support provider seeking a female support worker to assist clients living with age-related needs and younger-onset dementia in the Sutherland Shire.

We welcome applicants who may not have formal qualifications but who bring common sense, reliability, life experience, and a genuine desire to care and learn. Full training and ongoing support are provided.

This role is well suited to someone who values routine, consistency, and relationship-based care, and who is seeking stable, meaningful local work.

About the Role

  • One-on-one private in-home support
  • Supporting older clients and younger people living with dementia
  • Companionship and emotional reassurance
  • Assistance with personal care (as required)
  • Medication prompting only (no administration)
  • Meal preparation and light domestic support
  • Supporting routine, safety, and daily structure

Essential Requirements

  • Genuine interest in aged care and dementia support
  • Ability to follow care plans, instructions, and routines
  • Respectful and person-centred approach
  • Strong communication skills
  • Current National Police Check
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain)

Professional Standards & Conduct

All support workers are required to work in accordance with our Code of Conduct and deliver care aligned with best-practice principles and the Aged Care Quality Standards, including dignity, respect, safety, privacy, and person-centred support.
Clear expectations, policies, and guidance are provided during induction and ongoing employment.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Previous aged care or dementia experience welcomed but not essential
  • Certificate III in Individual Support highly regarded but not required
  • Training provided for the right person

Training & Support Provided

  • Thorough induction and onboarding
  • Dementia-specific training, including younger-onset dementia
  • Clear routines, care plans, and expectations
  • Ongoing guidance, supervision, and regular check-ins
