Job Summary
As we head towards the busy summer months, we're looking for a new motivated trainee to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to build and develop your skills in bike mechanics and the retail/sales environment - for us, skills can be taught but finding someone with the right mindset is key.
As the role develops, we'd be happy to look at / turn it into a full apprenticeship - which would include full Cytech training and qualifications.
Our location on the Spine Road (GL7 5LW) means bus services aren't the best (we're on route 51 from Cirencester to Swindon) - so you'll need to take into consideration your ability to get to us for an 8.45am start and get home after a 5.15pm finish. Own transport is a bonus, but there's nothing to stop you riding to work!!
Responsibilities
Will include, but not be limited to...
- Assist senior mechanics with bike repairs and maintenance tasks (full training will be given)
- Maintain a clean and organised shop and workshop environment
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and offering product advice
- Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times
- Check out and book in hire bikes
Qualifications
- Keen interest in cycling and and a desire to learn bicycle mechanics
- Strong willingness to learn new skills
- Good communication skills and a friendly attitude
- Ability to work well within a team
- Basic understanding of mechanical tools is advantageous but not essential
- Enthusiasm for providing excellent customer service
- Reliable and punctual with a professional approach
- Prior experience in retail or customer-facing roles is a plus but not required
