Social Care Worker - Riverview Children’s Residential Centre
Permanent Full-Time Contract (2 Positions Available)
Applications are invited for the position of Social Care Workerin Riverview.
Riverview provides accommodation and support for young girls aged 16 - 18 years who are out of home or transitioning from other care settings.
Within the residential centre, the Social Care Worker will work as part of a team to provide a caring, warm, nurturing and safe environment for young people.
This is a full time contract, involving 39 hours per week. The role involves shift work, including weekdays, weekend shifts along with sleepover shifts.
Essential Requirements:
- A recognised professional qualification in Social Care
- Registered with, or eligible for registration with CORU
- A professional, caring, and empathetic approach to working with vulnerable young people
- Strong communication skills with the ability to handle information confidentially and appropriately
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain trusting, supportive relationships with young people
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of Children First: National Guidance for the Protection and Welfare of Children
- Liaise effectively and professionally with colleagues within Good Shepherd Cork and external agencies
- Demonstrate excellent team-working and interpersonal skills
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Implement all organisational procedures and policies including health & Safety and Child Protection guidelines
- Show a genuine interest in the work of Good Shepherd Cork and commitment to its vision, mission and values
- Undertake any additional duties appropriate to the role as assigned from time to time
