  • This position is located primarily in the UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD). The Internship Programme is unpaid and full-time, i.e., an intern is expected to work five days per week (40 hours). The internship is offered either on an in-person or mixed (in-person and remote) basis. Interns must have a valid visa. The intern must cover all costs of travel, accommodation, medical insurance and living expenses. The internship will tentatively start on 9th March 2026 for a period of six months. Under the supervision of the Economic Affairs officer, duties may include but are not limited to: Economic and/or sector analysis: - Assist in collecting, evaluating, interpreting, analysing specified statistics and qualitative socio-economic information obtained from a variety of sources and pertaining to particular sectors, countries, regions or development topics. - Assist in preparing briefing notes, inputs to speeches and similar material on economic or sector issues for the use of the Director, for the Office of UNCTAD’s Secretary General, and other relevant stakeholders, in a form that is adapted to the audience; Intergovernmental support: - Assist in inputing for reports to intergovernmental bodies. - Assist in following intergovernmental meetings and prepares summary reports and similar material. - Prepares inputs to statements by members of Office of the Director and UNCTAD Secretariat staff to such meetings. - Assists in the organization and servicing of expert group meetings, seminars, panels, etc., on trade and development issues, including for inter-governmental processes. General: - Performs other related duties as required, including a variety of administrative tasks necessary for the final delivery of the work unit’s services;

  • Fluency oral and written in English is required for the internship. Knowledge of French and/or Spanish is desirable
