About Us
Fokuslah is an education startup. We make short-form videos that help students learn fast and make fewer mistakes. We’re hiring a short-form Video Editor with basic shooting experience.
Editing is the main skill. Shooting is supporting. Your job is to stop the scroll, hold attention, and deliver a clear payoff.
What You’ll Do
- Edit high-retention short videos (15-60s) for TikTok & Reels
- Build strong structure:hook (1-3s) → build → payoff / “aha”.
- Create clean, readable captions, sharp pacing, and strong rhythm.
- Test multiple hooks/openings, iterate fast, and improve weak edits.
- Produce ad-ready edits with clear CTAs and platform-specific formats.
- Keep footage and edits organized for reuse and scaling.
Shooting (Basic)
When needed, capture simple, clean footage:
- Talking-head videos
- Product demos
- Basic classroom/explainer setups
- Street Interview
You should be comfortable with:
- Basic framing
- Simple lighting
- Clean audio
What We Care About
- You understand short-form storytelling and attention.
- You can explain why an edit works.
- You think in seconds and frames, not minutes.
- You’re fast, detail-oriented, and enjoy improving raw ideas.
Requirements:
- Proven experience editing short-form video
- Strong skills in Premiere / Final Cut / After Effects / CapCut (any is fine)
- Great pacing, captioning, and rhythm
- Basic shooting experience (camera/lighting/audio)
- Comfortable iterating often and meeting tight deadlines
Nice to Have
- Education/explainer content experience
- Familiar with retention/drop-off and short-form analytics
- Can suggest better hooks/reframes, not just execute

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
