A panel may be formed as a result of this process from which subsequent Staff Nurse Appointments within the John Paul Adult Services will be made over the next 6 months.
Location:
John Paul Adult Services provides a combination of campus and community based services to adults with varying support needs, based on personal outcome measures. Our services are currently undergoing a transition from a campus-based service to community living, where we aim to create opportunities for the people we support to be valued citizens in their communities and to have everyday life experiences. Our focus is to form a partnership with the people we support and their families to ensure each individual live their best life.

Qualifications/Experience:
- A current Live Register Certificate from An Bord Altranais, RNID/RPN qualification is an advantage.
- One years experience working with people with an Intellectual Disability is an essential requirement of the post.
- A full clean manual Irish Driving Licence (Class B) is an essential requirement of this post.

- Good judgement, discretion and confidentiality.
- The ability to communicate clearly, sensitively, and effectively in both written and verbal forms, and to communicate with family members and work with them for the best outcome for the person supported.
- Creative problem solving skills.
- The ability to work independently while recognising when to seek support from interdisciplinary colleagues as appropriate.
- Patience, flexibility, creativity and eagerness to become involved in a range of activities.
- The ability to educate and upskill colleagues and family members in positive health promotion needs
Working Hours:
Flexibility will be required in order to meet service needs. A commitment to providing Senior Person cover within the service is an essential requirement of this post. The Brothers of Charity model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual.
Annual Leave:
24 days per annum. Appropriate service related leave will be granted after 5 and 10 years service respectively.
Remuneration:
Department of Health Staff Nurse salary scale 01/08/2025) - 37,288 per annum x 11 increments - 53,873 (Maximum of the scale) per annum. Long Service Increment 55,477 per annum is granted after 3 years on the maximum of the scale.
Department of Health Enhanced Nurse salary scale _(01/08/2025) - _44,311 per annum x 7 increments - 55,644 (Maximum of the scale) per annum. Long Service Increment (LSI) 57,273 per annum is granted after 3 years on the maximum of the scale.
Tenure:
This post is permanent full-time and pensionable.
Probation:
A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the post.
The employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the
employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment. The probation period
may be extended at the Employers discretion.
