Hostel Manager

Ben Lettery Hostel is a small, friendly Irish-owned independent hostel in the heart of beautiful Connemara. We’re all about great value, a great vibe and the great outdoors. We’re sandwiched in beauty - at the base of a mountain and overlooking a lake. You won’t find a more idyllic spot.

This is a live-in, hands-on role. The Hostel Manager at Ben Lettery Hostel is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and overall performance of our hostel.

The Hostel Manager ensures an excellent guest experience by:

• maintaining high standards of cleanliness, service, safety and atmosphere throughout the hostel,
• managing reservations and pricing, responding to guest feedback and reviews, handling complaints professionally,
• developing the hostel’s welcoming, social vibe, and
• building strong relationships with local suppliers and activity providers.

Operationally, the Hostel Manager is responsible for staffing, training and motivating a diverse team of seasonal staff and volunteers, ensuring all shifts are covered and procedures are followed. They oversee housekeeping, reception, stock control, maintenance and compliance with health, safety and fire regulations.

The role includes regular reporting on occupancy, budgets, reviews and operational performance, as well as being on call when required to ensure the smooth running of the property.

About you:

Key Details:

• Salary: €30K per annum pro rata.
• 2026 Season: March - October inclusive.
