Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for civil engineering, WWPS, utilities, and reinstatement projects
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
  • Quantifying materials, labour, plant, and subcontract requirements
  • Obtaining, analysing, and comparing supplier and subcontractor quotations
  • Supporting tender submissions and commercial proposals
  • Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
  • Liaising with Project Managers, Engineers, and site teams during tender and project handover
  • Maintaining cost databases and historical pricing records

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in an Estimator role within civil engineering or construction
  • Experience in WWPS and/or wastewater infrastructure is highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of reinstatement works and utilities projects
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and commercial skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and estimating software

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Engineering or construction-related qualification
  • Experience working on frameworks or long-term utility contracts
  • Familiarity with NEC or similar contract forms
