Optimize Recruitment is proud to partner with a leading consultancy in the search for an experienced Senior Health & Safety Advisor. This is a prime opportunity to join a dynamic and highly respected firm, known for delivering technically complex and large-scale projects across a wide range of sectors including infrastructure, renewable energy, and commercial construction throughout Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee comprehensive health & safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations, ensuring full regulatory compliance and continuous improvement across client sites and internal operations.
  • Deliver advanced Occupational Health & Safety consultancy services to high-profile clients across various sectors, providing strategic guidance and tailored solutions.
  • Conduct detailed review and evaluation of contractor Risk Assessments and Method Statements, offering expert recommendations to align with legal and best-practice standards.
  • Manage the delivery of construction safety consultancy, acting as Project Supervisor Design Process on major construction and renewable energy developments.
  • Design and implement strategic H&S training and development programmes, tailored to enhance competency across all organizational levels.
  • Drive the development and execution of internal and external safety management systems, including ISO certifications where applicable.
  • Promote and embed a strong, proactive safety culture within the organization and across client portfolios.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to expand and enhance Health & Safety service offerings.
  • Mentor junior health & safety staff and contribute to knowledge-sharing across teams.

Requirements:

  • A third-level qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ proven experience in a dedicated health & safety advisory role, preferably in a consultancy or multi-sector environment.
  • In-depth experience with PSDP responsibilities, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and industry standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct and lead audits, inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Strong understanding of H&S regulatory frameworks, construction safety practices, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver health & safety training programmes tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.

Desirable Qualifications (an advantage):

  • Completed PSDP Training Course.
  • IOSH Managing Safely Certification.
  • QQI Level 6 Manual Handling Instructor qualification.
  • SOLAS Accredited Safe Pass Trainer certification.
  • Familiarity with ISO 45001 systems and internal audit procedures.
