Chard Community Hub Admin Assistant & Project Coordinator
Salary
Hourly rate £13.66 per hour (increasing to £14.00 from April 2026 and then £14.35 from April 2027). Actual salary £12786 per annum (FTE £26,282)
Hours
Between the two successful post holders the Hub will require coverage between for the core opening hours of Monday to Friday 9.30am - 3.00pm.
Working Weeks
All Year Round. 25 days holiday (pro rata) Actual holiday is 90 hours per annum plus Bank Holidays.
Responsible to
Chard Community Hub Manager and Early Years Lead
Main Responsibilities and Duties.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for communication with volunteers and Directors.
- Coordinate and manage room bookings for community use.
- Prepare and issue invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
- Support general housekeeping and caretaking duties, including light cleaning, recycling and ensuring a welcoming environment during bookings.
- Conduct regular health and safety checks in line with Hub policies.
- Assist with fundraising initiatives and support the planning and delivery of community events.
- Provide administrative support for meetings, including preparation, attendance, and minute-taking.
- Be the first point of contact in respect of projects/programmes the Hub is involved with, with other external partners,
- Collect case studies for the Bridges to Wellbeing project and support with the Peer Pathway Programme and liaise with the Bridges to Wellbeing Project Manager.
- Provide administrative support for projects/programmes the Hub is involved in, including providing information as required by the Centre Manager and the Directors
- Act as a welcoming and approachable front-facing representative of the Hub, engaging positively with all members of the public.
- Maintain awareness of safeguarding procedures and report concerns appropriately.
- Carry out weekly and monthly financial administration tasks as required.
- Oversee the review and updating of Hub policies and procedures.
- Represent Chard Community Hub at local community events and outreach activities.
- Perform a range of general administrative duties, including covering reception as part of the Hub team to support the smooth running of the Hub.
- Undertake any other duties as reasonably required to support the effective operation of the Hub.
- Model the Community Hub’s values of Kindness, Collaboration and Positivity throughout all aspects of their work.

Safeguarding
Attend all safeguarding training as directed.
Follow Chard Community Hub procedures and report any concerns to the relevant DSL
Data Protection
Ensure that legislation and Chard Community Hub policies and procedures relating to confidentiality and data protection are adhered to.
Special Factors
The post-holder is expected to familiarise themselves with and adhere to all relevant Chard Community Hub Policies and Procedures including Health and Safety and Data Protection requirements and to be aware of and assume the appropriate level of responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, reporting any concerns in accordance with the Community Hub’s safeguarding policies.
