Qualified Nursery Practitioner(Term Time)

Term Time only position, working Monday to Friday 8.30 to 3.30pm (38 weeks on, 14 weeks off per year)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our early years team and become part of our nurturing Blossom family.

Key Duties

• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that support children’s physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development in a child-led and nurturing way.
• Create a safe, loving, and stimulating environment where children feel secure, confident, and excited to learn.
• Supervise children during play, mealtimes, rest periods, and organised activities, ensuring their wellbeing and safety at all times.
• Observe, assess, and maintain accurate records of children’s learning, development, and daily routines in line with EYFS and regulatory requirements.
• Build strong, positive partnerships with parents and carers through warm, open communication about children’s progress and daily experiences.
• Support and uphold Blossom Barn’s policies and procedures, ensuring high standards of safeguarding, health, and safety are always maintained.
• Lead by example, promoting kindness, respect, good manners, and positive behaviour in line with Blossom Barn values.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support staff rotas, training, team meetings, and the smooth day-to-day running of the nursery.
• Assist with the planning and delivery of outings and experiences, including driving when required, in line with nursery policies.

Requirements:

• Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early years setting.
• A genuine passion for nurturing children and supporting their individual learning journeys.
• Strong leadership and teamwork skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Sound knowledge of early years practice, EYFS, and child development.
• A recognised childcare qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent preferred).
• Ability to build trusting, positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
• A valid driving licence is desirable for outings or external activities.
• Organised, reliable, caring, and able to work confidently both independently and as part of a close-knit team.
