About the role
Balfour Beatty is seeking a talented and driven Design Coordinator to join our Regional Civils team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping high-value infrastructure projects, leading the coordination of design during bid and pre-construction phases to deliver winning solutions.
You will lead, manage, and coordinate all aspects of bid and pre-construction commissions, ensuring that high-quality, competitive proposals are delivered in line with Balfour Beatty’s management systems, strategic objectives, and brand values.
What you'll be doing
As a Design Coordinatoryou will:
- Lead and coordinate the design process across complex bid and pre-construction activities
- Manage multi-disciplinary design teams to produce innovative, compliant, and cost-effective solutions
- Ensure alignment with customer requirements, technical standards, and project constraints
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders
- Support the development of winning strategies for tenders and framework opportunities
- Ensure all design outputs are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
- Contribute to risk management, value engineering, and buildability assessment.
Who we're looking for You will have the following**:
- Proven experience in design coordination within civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of pre-construction and bid processes
- Experience working with a variety of contract forms and procurement routes
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to lead and influence multi-disciplinary teams
- A proactive, solution-focused approach with strong commercial awareness
