We are looking for a Mechanical Designer to support the development and design of trailers, chassis, tanker structures, and heavy vehicle fabrication projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop trailer chassis, flatbeds, tankers, and structural frames
- Prepare 2D fabrication drawings and detailed blueprints
- Create 3D CAD models of vehicle structures
- Develop Bill of Materials (BOM) and material specifications
- Coordinate with fabrication workshop for production feasibility
- Ensure designs meet load capacity and structural safety requirements
- Modify designs based on site/fabrication feedback
- Support prototype development and improvements
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2-5 years experience in mechanical or structural design
- Experience in vehicle structures / steel fabrication / heavy equipment
- Strong proficiency in CAD/ CATIA V5 software:
- SolidWorks OR equivalent
- Ability to prepare fabrication-ready drawings
Basic understanding of:
Structural load distribution
- Welding & steel fabrication processes
- Material selection (MS steel, high-tensile steel, etc.)
Deliverables Expected
- Complete 3D design models
- Manufacturing-ready blueprints
- Welding & assembly drawings
- Material take-off list (BOM)
- Design revisions based on feedback
This role involves working on real fabrication and production projects, not only office-based drafting.
