What You'll Do:
As a Social Media Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in digital content creation, online engagement, and social media strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct light desk research and draft content outlines to guide post creation (topics may include local governance and policy, political news, educational news, social issues, culture, and related topics).
  • Design social media posts, infographics, and short-form videos (e.g. reels) using Canva or CapCut.
  • Write captions that are clear, engaging, and tailored for different audiences while matching brand tone.
  • Source and suggest relevant news or campaign content.
  • Assist with content calendar planning and scheduling.
  • Track post engagement and stay updated on platform trends.
  • Support project proposals and provide general team assistance.

Requirements:

  • Current students or recent graduates in English, Communications, Media Studies, Journalism, or related fields (students from other disciplines with strong interest in content creation and current affairs are encouraged to apply).
  • Strong writing skills in English.
  • Interested in current affairs, public policy, culture, or social issues.
  • Curious, responsible, and able to work independently.
  • Open to feedback and collaborative design work.
  • Able to commit to a minimum 10 - 12 weeks of internship

Job Type: Internship
Contract length: 12 weeks

Pay: RM500.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Kuching: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

Work Location: In person
