- As Head of People & Culture, you will partner with leaders across our Innovation & Brand (I&B) and People & Culture (P&C) portfolios, supporting functions that are critical to delivering Fonterra's strategic and operational priorities. Based in Palmerston North, you'll work closely with senior leaders and teams across the business to drive performance, capability and organisational effectiveness.
This role sits at the intersection of people and business strategy. You’ll provide trusted advice and challenge to senior stakeholders, helping to shape workforce, leadership and culture plans that enable sustainable business outcomes. You'll lead the delivery of key people initiatives, navigate complex organisational requirements, and ensure alignment between enterprise priorities and local business needs.
Working in a fast-paced and evolving environment, you'll bring a commercial lens to people decisions, balancing long-term capability building with immediate operational requirements. You'll play a key role in influencing leadership teams, strengthening organisational capability, and fostering a culture that supports both high performance and employee engagement.
This is a senior business partnering role requiring strong relationship management, strategic thinking, and the ability to translate complex challenges into practical and impactful people solutions.
Mōu | About You
You are an experienced senior People & Culture leader with a strong track record of partnering with business leaders to deliver meaningful organisational outcomes. You bring deep HR expertise combined with commercial awareness, enabling you to align people strategies with business priorities and operational realities.
You are comfortable working across a diverse portfolio, influencing senior stakeholders and navigating complexity with confidence and pragmatism. You build credibility quickly, challenge constructively, and are known for your ability to foster trusted partnerships that drive positive outcomes.
You have experience developing workforce and succession strategies, strengthening leadership capability, and supporting organisational change initiatives. Equally, you're passionate about creating environments where people can thrive and perform at their best.
To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
- Significant experience in a senior People & Culture or HR leadership role.
- Proven capability partnering with senior leaders in operational and corporate environments.
- Strong organisational development, workforce planning, and change management expertise.
- Excellent coaching, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach with sound commercial judgement.
- A passion for developing people, leadership capability and high-performing teams.
